The perfect simple homemade curry powder recipe is the perfect addition to your spice cabinet. It’s easy to make and you can store it in an airtight container for up to six months, so it’s perfect for when you’re ready to add a little extra flavor to your meals.
To make this delicious curry powder, all you need is some coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, peppercorns, cardamom pods, and dried chilies (or chili flakes). Then just add the spices together in a dry pan over medium heat until they’re fragrant. Put them into a spice grinder or mortar and pestle and grind them up until they’re ground fine—you want the mixture to be as fine as possible so it clings nicely to the food you season with it.
Store your homemade curry powder in an airtight container away from light or moisture. You can also freeze any unused portion of the mixture if you want to keep it even longer!
